Introduction to Climate Change Commission’s ERP Advice – Christchurch

Next year, the Government needs to deliver their second emissions reduction plan for New Zealand. He Pou a Rangi Climate Change Commission is required to provide advice on the direction of this plan, and to help test their thinking the Commission is releasing a draft of their advice for consultation.

Consultation opens on 26 April and will run for eight weeks through to 20 June.

The Sustainable Business Council (SBC), BusinessNZ and He Pou a Rangi Climate Change Commission are partnering to bring a series of events for members to hear from the Commission team about how they have approached this draft advice and to ask questions.

The transition to a low emissions and climate resilient society brings a mix of opportunities, benefits, challenges and costs. The effects – good and bad – will be felt by all of us.

It’s important the advice reflects what Aotearoa New Zealand’s businesses are experiencing and care about. We want to know if you think our recommendations reflect the correct path New Zealand should be taking to reduce emissions and meet our legislated targets.

There will be exclusive joint SBC and BusinessNZ events in Wellington, Auckland and Christchurch. The events are also open to CLC signatories.

Come along to find out what the Commission’s advice could mean for Aotearoa and get your questions answered by the Commission’s team.
