CLC Masterclass Series: Insights for businesses to make their premises ‘spongier’ to help adapt to increased rainfall and grow flood resilience
Join us for September’s Masterclass which will explore insights from the recently released report by CLC signatory WSP and the Helen Clark Foundation on ‘Sponge Cities.’
The Auckland floods and Cyclone Gabrielle highlighted our vulnerability to increased flood risk. Adapting New Zealand’s cities will be a complex task – and require tough decisions on how we build for the future.
This Masterclass will explore insights from the Sponge Cities report including:
- What are Sponge Cities and the nature-based solutions available to grow flood resilience in New Zealand’s urban spaces.
- Practical initiatives that businesses can take to make their premises ‘spongier’ while improving employee and community wellbeing and enhancing biodiversity.
The full report can be found here as well as an illustrated introduction to Sponge Cities here.
This event is open to CLC signatories and SBC members only.
